The Orson Pratt, Jr. excommunication minutes describe the court proceedings in the trial of Orson Pratt, Jr. His trial, held on September 18, 1864, was a public meeting held in the bowery in St. George, Utah, to determine whether Pratt should retain his membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a result of the trial, Pratt was excommunicated. The single leaf of paper holds roughly ninety-nine lines of handwritten material from the trial.

Photocopies of newspaper articles and clippings. The items relate to the "September Six," five of whom were excommunicated and one was disfellowshiped from the Mormon Church in September of 1993. Included in the list of those excommunicated are Paul Toscano, Lavina Anderson, and D. Michael Quinn. One of Lavina Anderson's letters is in the collection. Also included are items relating to the subsequent request of Steve Benson to have his name removed from membership in the Mormon Church...
